Tone Module User Guide

Learn how to adjust sound parameters to create unique musical effects using the Tone module.

What is the Tone Module?

The Tone module is a tool for adjusting various sound parameters. With it, you can modify volume, frequencies, phase, and other characteristics to achieve your desired result. All changes are applied in real-time, and you can hear the results immediately.

How to Use the Tone Module

1. Main Interface

The Tone module consists of five sliders, each responsible for a specific sound parameter:

  • Level (Volume): Controls overall sound volume. Range: 0% – 200%. Default: 128%.
  • Freq1 (Frequency 1): Base frequency of the sound. Range: 20 Hz – 11025 Hz. Default: 200 Hz.
  • Freq2 (Frequency 2): Second harmonic frequency for richer sound. Range: 20 Hz – 11025 Hz. Default: 400 Hz.
  • Droop (Decay): Controls how quickly the sound fades. Range: 0% – 100%. Default: 0%.
  • Phase: Adjusts the phase shift between frequencies. Range: 0° – 90°. Default: 0°.

2. How to Adjust Parameters

  1. Find the desired slider (e.g., Level).
  2. Click on the slider and move it left or right.
  3. Release the slider to apply changes.
  4. After finishing adjustments, the sound will automatically play with the new settings.

3. Tooltips on Hover

If you hover over any slider, the program may display a tooltip or additional information about the parameter. This helps you better understand how each slider works.

Tips for Using the Tone Module

Experiment! Don’t be afraid to try different parameter combinations. For example, changing frequencies (Freq1 and Freq2) can lead to unexpected but interesting results.

Use Decay: If the sound seems too sharp, increase the Droop value to make it softer.

Adjust Phase: Changing the Phase parameter can create a “rotating” sound effect, which is great for creating spatial sound.

Save Your Settings: If you find perfect parameters, save them for future use.

Example Usage

  1. Set Level to 150% to make the sound louder.
  2. Set Freq1 to 300 Hz and Freq2 to 600 Hz for harmonious sound.
  3. Increase Droop to 25% to soften the sound.
  4. Adjust Phase to 45° to add a motion effect.
  5. Release the slider and listen to the result.

Possible Issues and Solutions

  • Sound is too quiet: Check the Level parameter and increase its value.
  • Sound is too sharp: Decrease the Droop value to smooth out the decay.
  • Sound doesn’t change: Make sure you release the slider after making adjustments. Changes are only applied when you release the slider.
